For my mom’s big 50th birthday, we took a little 3 day staycation to Kaua’i, an island I haven’t been too since I was a child. I forgot about the sheer beauty of the island, and 3 days was all it took for Kaua’i to become my official favorite Hawaiian island. I can’t wait to go back and have a few more staycations of my own!
Using my parents timeshare, we chose to stay at the Wyndham Bali Hai Villas. Located in Princeville, about an hour’s drive from the airport, we settled into our spacious 3 bedroom condo.

Our condo at the Wyndham Bali Hai resort was a great fit for our party of 7. The rooms were donned with touristy furniture, the kitchen was very modern and full of appliances, and we even had a nice little patio to lounge about on.
A shot of our room, which features the alarm clock from hell. Seriously, for 3 days it went off at weird hours, an incessant beeping that two grown adults couldn’t figure out how to shut off. Very weird!
There are numerous 2-story condos spaced throughout the resort. With multiple walkways leading to many amenities, we found it easy to reach the pool, bbq area, and tennis courts. We unfortunately also made frequent visits to the business center, as the wifi for the resort was out of service for our entire stay. Now that was a bummer; we used up all of our data that month lol.
Our favorite area of the resort was definitely one of the pools. Each day we switched off between the jacuzzi and the main swimming area, which had a small section filled with sand. (A nice touch!)
The pool was also a great area for an impromptu photoshoot, lol!
Overall, I’d definitely recommend staying at the Wyndham Bali Hai Villas. Princeville is a popular touristy spot on Kaua’i, and it’s a great place to indulge in luxury and relax. It’s also not too far from other exciting areas and activities; a few minutes drive and we were able to zipline and go on a tubing adventure! Princeville is also a short drive away from Hanalei, a hip little town with delicious food and trendy boutiques.
