We are back everyone! Are you ready for an avalanche of blog posts?! We are finally back from our 2.5 week trip to Australia and New Zealand, and we’re ready to let you know about everything that happened. Sorry we haven’t been updating along the way; blogging on the road is tough haha!
Todays post is featuring Taronga Zoo, the city zoo in Sydney, NSW Australia.
Jarden and I love visiting zoos, and we were especially excited to see a bunch of animals in Australia. From koalas, to komodo dragons, giant snakes, spiders, and lots more, we spent a good 3 hours exploring, photographing, and learning about a bunch of different animals.
To get to the zoo you can catch 12 minute ferry from the city. You can also use your Opal Card for the ferry, which is great! The Zoo offers many free shows throughout the day, along with talks with the animal keepers and feeding demonstrations.
Such an amazing view of Sydney Harbour! You have a great view of the opera house and bridge from here.
Something unique about Taronga Zoo is that they don’t only offer your typical zoo experience. ‘Wild Ropes’ is a high ropes 90 minute adventure where you climb and complete physical challenges through the trees. They also offer ‘Roar and Snore’, where you can camp overnight at the zoo in safari style tents. Sounds like a dream!
Taronga was a great place to spend a morning. (Make sure to bring sunscreen, it was quite hot!) They even have a cable car that can take you from the top of the zoo, back down to the ferry at the harbour. We had an enjoyable time there and loved getting a look at so many unique animals!
