Ever since we took our first food tour at the beginning of 2016, I knew that it was one of the best ways to explore a city. Food tours show you where the locals eat and give you lots of tasty samplings. Knowing I absolutely had to delve into the Parisian food scene, I booked a tour with Secret Food Tours Paris!
Secret Food Tours Paris
Secret Food Tours works in many cities including London, Rome, Lisbon, and much more! They are constantly adding new locations, making me want to take a food tour in each new city!
Arriving at our meeting point:
We gathered eagerly at our designated meeting point and met our guide for the next 3 hours, Stefan. Stefan was a Parisian local who was passionate about food and provided a healthy amount of history throughout our walk.
Our first few stops took us to a chocolate shop by one of the best chocolatiers in Paris! We saw some unbelievable sculptures made out of chocolate, and got to pick 2 chocolates each of our choice.
We then took a gander towards a location where we ate some tasty macarons. Again we got to pick 2 flavors each; vanilla was delicious!

The “I Love You Wall”, a popular picture spot which we visited on the tour. The phrase is written in hundreds of languages!
In our next few of stops we visited 2 bakeries, a cheese shop, and charcuterie! We also saw a few popular spots, such as the location where Picasso used to live.
The frommage shop was something out of my dreams, I LOVE CHEESE! At each shop we got tiny samples, preparing our palette for the grand finale to come.
Our last stop was a cafe next to a hole in the wall creperie, where we got to enjoy our crepe of choice with a cappuccino. Bliss people, bliss!
We then walked to the secret headquarters of Secret Food Tours, where we had a nice underground dining setup. This is where absolute magic happened: Stefan proceeded to give us cheese/meat and wine pairings for the next hour!
I don’t think I ever ate so much cheese in my life. The pairings kept coming, with Stefan quick to refill our wine glasses. He educated us on the region the wine came from while we devoured each item picked up along the tour.
The value of Secret Food Tours was absolutely phenomenal! We were completely stuffed by the end of the tour, stomaches full to our hearts content. We also got to learn so much about Parisian culture and history, taught to us by a true local. On your next stop in Paris, make sure to check out Secret Food Tours Paris – your taste buds will thank you for it!
