Jarden and I recently had the opportunity to try out some delicious Japanese fare at Okonomiyaki Chibo, a teppanyaki restaurant located on Beach Walk in Waikiki.
Previously at the Royal Hawaiian Center, Okonomiyaki Chibo just moved to this location about a year ago. They are having a Yakisoba Fair as a September Special throughout the entire month.
The Yakisoba Fair features 4 different types of Yakisoba to choose from with varying spice level. From a mild, garlicy, level 1 to an intense, volcano level 4, come down this month and see what spice level you can handle!
Jarden and I both generally can’t handle much spice, but we both tried the volcano level 4 just for kicks. UM YEA. IT’S FREAKIN HOT. I think my body went into mild shock, but if you like spice, I’m sure you’ll love it.
We also got to try a lot of other dishes besides Yakisoba – from loco mocos to frozen dessert, check out their many options below!
Some of the best garlic shrimp, without driving to The North Shore!
The garlic chips were ahhhhhmazing! I’m even guilty of taking all the little leftover chips home with me because, you know, I’m definitely not letting those little nuggets go to waste.
It was also our first time trying Okonomiyaki, a dish that resembles a type of savory pancake. (Pancake fillings vary).
Known for its aesthetic swirly sauce, it’s often accompanied by dancing bonito flakes. This special Okonomiyaki had grilled lobster inside and on top – so ono!
A couple of different dessert options to choose from. They also make special shave ice with authentic, tropical syrups like pineapple and coconut!
An intimate spot with wine, beer, and cocktail options, Okonomiyaki Chibo is the perfect spot for lunch, dinner, or happy hour! Everything was so flavorful and delicious – we definitely want to come back with our friends!
