“Kani Ka Pila” is a term that means playing music together in Hawaiian. Many locals love getting together, singing and playing on their ukulele, an impromptu jam session a common thing in Hawaii. We found this term very fitting for a local hotspot of nightly live Hawaiian music – Kani Ka Pila Grille at The Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach.
Jarden and I were fortunate enough to have won a giveaway from Hawaii Mom Blog and The Outrigger Reef in Waikiki, a prize pack that included VIP seating for 4 at Kani Ka Pila Grille, a sampler platter, and complimentary valet parking. We were very excited for the chance to dine out at a new-to-us restaurant!
The Outrigger Reef is located right on the beaches of Waikiki. We arrived a little early for dinner, so we decided to walk on the beach and take a couple of pictures – it was breathtaking! We absolutely love calling Hawaii our home.
We then arrived at Kani Ka Pila Grille, where we were taken to our seats, front row for the nights performance! We had the pleasure of meeting and listening to the sounds of Manoa DNA. They were wonderful!
Here is the Kani Ka Pila Grille Menu.
We ordered some drinks, our complimentary appetizer, and a 2 items from the Happy Hour section. Our friends Brad & Tiana got their own entrees.
The food was pretty tasty, and it’s a nice place to wind down with dinner and some live music. We had a wonderful time – thank you so much to The Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach and Hawaii Mom Blog!
