A couple of days ago, Jarden and I had the chance to visit Island Yogurt, a locally owned and operated self-serve yogurt shop in Aiea.
Unique from other yogurt spots, Island Yogurt offers watermelon slices if you want to skip the traditional cup. (Hurry though, before watermelon season ends!) They also offer alcohol-infused flavors. Yes, boozy yogurt exists!
With 14 flavors, and over 50 toppings to choose from, we were ready to get our froyo on! The traditional toppings are all there, from fresh fruit to candy, cereal, and they even offer unique choices for the brave such as olive oil and tabasco sauce!
The yogurt is charged by weight. We tried a multitude of flavors, and honestly they are all very authentic tasting and delicious! We were surprised at how spot on the flavors were. The Fruity Pebbles tasted just like milk and cereal 🙂
There is even a great little spot to entertain the kids with Disney movies on-screen and books to read. Very family friendly!
Behold, the infamous watermelon slice! The inside of the slice is carved out with room for your yogurt of choice. You can put any flavor inside, but of course the watermelon flavor is most popular- it was so good! (Plus, it’s great for Instagram pictures!)
Now on to the new additions – boozy froyo! Island Yogurt recently released a line of pre-packaged, alcohol-infused yogurt, ready for purchase for those 21 and older. An 8-ounce container costs $4.
Inspired by popular cocktails, the options include Watermelon & Vodka, Pineapple & Rum, Guinness, Coffee & Kahlua, and Strawberry & Prosecco.
My alcohol of choice is usually wine, so the Strawberry & Prosecco flavor was my absolute favorite! The strawberry flavor was deliciously sweet, with a subtle taste of Prosecco blended throughout. It’s the perfect adult treat, and I like how it’s frozen and ready to go! You can also let it melt a little if you want a softer consistency 🙂
