1. GO TO THE BEACH

Winter swells are on the way!

The beach is obviously number one on this list; it’s one of the main reasons why people come to Hawaii in the first place! Many locals go to the beach on a near-daily basis, and it should be one of the main activities on your Hawaiian vacation also. Get a tan, snorkel with marine life, or even catch some waves!

2. VISIT PEARL HARBOR & THE USS ARIZONA MEMORIAL

For an enormous piece of US History, head on over to Pearl Harbor and learn about Hawaii’s involvement in World War II. 1,300 free tickets are offered daily on a first-come first-served basis, so try to get there early! (Gates open at 7am)

3. CHECK OUT THE VIEWS

Diamond Head Hike Hawaii

Diamond Head Hike

Oahu is so picturesque, nearly every where you look has a scenic view! For a free way to see the landscape, consider doing one of Oahu’s most popular hikes. We would recommend Lanikai Pillboxes, Diamond Head, or Kokohead Crater Trail. (*Note – Diamond Head is $1/person, but the other two hikes are free!)

4. STROLL THROUGH WAIKIKI

If you’re looking for some nightlife, head to infamous Waikiki in downtown Honolulu. Most tourists typically stay in Waikiki, so it’s always crowded and full of live entertainment. Come here at least once to walk the strip and explore all the shops and restaurants.

5. CATCH FIREWORKS AT THE HILTON

For a free firework show, head over to Hilton Hawaiian Village and watch the sky light up. The fireworks are shown  every Friday night at 7:45pm, and they can be seen from the public access beach.

6. DRIVE THROUGH HALEIWA TOWN

If you’re looking for something different from Waikiki, head to the the north shore of Oahu and explore Haleiwa’s laid back beach town. Make a day trip of it and explore some of the best eateries and shops on the north shore! (If you like seafood, check out my favorite shrimp truck in Haleiwa!)

7. CATCH A SUNSET

Being known for some of nicest sunsets in the world, you can spot an Instagram-worthy sunset anywhere on the island.

8. HIKE TO A WATERFALL

Manoa Falls Hike

Do as the locals do and hike through greenery to find one of Oahu’s many waterfalls. A popular hike that we recommend is Manoa Falls, simple and family friendly!
