Visiting The Chihuly Garden and Glass Exhibit in Seattle

Chihuly Garden and Glass

During our recent layover in Seattle, we met up with some family members and went to explore some of the city’s touristy hotspots. We actually weren’t going to check out the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit, but were encouraged to do so from my mother-in-law. Man did she make a great choice!

Chihuly Garden and Glass is an exhibit featuring the glass works of Dale Chihuly. The exhibit opened in 2012 and is as popular as ever. Our minds were blown by the types of art that could be created with glass!

Everything was separated by certain themes/inspirations. My favorite was definitely the collection of sea life inspired work.

Chandelier inspired collection.

Everything was extremely colorful and detailed. You could really see that hours and hours of effort were put into each piece, it was all so beautiful!

At the end of the indoor portion of the exhibit, you can walk outside to a “greenhouse” and then outside to a garden. The art looked even more beautiful intermixed with the outside environment, and it gave it a whimsical feel.

We definitely recommend checking out the Chihuly Garden and Glass exhibit if you are ever in the Seattle area. It is right next to the Space Needle, and there are even combo tickets for both attractions if you plan on seeing both of them. (That’s what we got!) Our pictures represent only a small portion of Chihuly’s exhibit; you must experience it for yourself!
